  1. Dearest Bishop Ambrose. One of the kindest, truly pastoral and loving Deans of Gibraltar, then, as we all know, post his Ordination to the Episcopate, he continued to be a faithful, humble, shepherd and servant to all those of us whom he nurtured in his and our beloved Gibraltar. Many of us must remember his extraordinary generosity of spirit and the lunches he entertained us to at the RAC Club. He had an uncanny knack of being able to put both members of Her Majesty's Forces and us, Her Majesty's loyal subjects, at ease. His wisdom was legion; his compassion infinite. I am eternally grateful to him for helping my late mother to embrace the Church Universal at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity post her excommunication be the church of Rome for marrying my Anglican father. This meant that, after 25 years, she was able to receive the Blessed Sacrament again. He never, ever forgot birthdays, Christenings, Wedding Anniversaries and joined us at 'his second home' whenever he felt that it was 'politically acceptable'. Not a giant in stature but most certainly in all the Christian virtues which he lived and did not just pay lip service to. With his amazing sense of humour, there shall continue to be laughter in heaven! Requiescat in Pace dear Father in Christ, +Ambrose. You have certainly set the bar very high. We need to continue to strive for the Truth you brought to our shores. An Honorary Llanito. Benedictus.
